This Privacy Policy explains how Lexorate collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use our website and mobile applications (the "Service"), in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Czech law.

Who We Are

ozpr s.r.o. is a company registered in the Czech Republic with its registered office at Malirska 377/11, 170 00 Praha 7. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

Personal Data We Collect

We may collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account details, such as your name, email address, date of birth, country, and native language(s)
• A parent or guardian's email address, where parental consent is required
• Voice recordings of your speech that you submit for pronunciation assessment
• Text transcriptions generated from your voice recordings
• Assessment results, scores, and learning progress data
• Class and assignment data, where you are part of a school or classroom
• Subscription and purchase records (we do not receive your full payment-card details)
• Device information for push notifications, where you enable them
• Technical and usage data, such as IP address, device and browser information, login records, and how you interact with the Service

How We Collect Your Data

We collect data when you:

• Register for an account, or are enrolled by a parent, guardian, teacher, or school
• Record your speech and complete exercises and assignments
• Use and navigate the Service
• Communicate with us

How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide pronunciation assessment and generate feedback, scores, and progress tracking
• Create and manage your account and, where applicable, your subscription
• Make student results available to the relevant teachers and schools
• Send you notifications and communicate with you about the Service
• Maintain the security of the Service and analyse usage to improve it

Voice Recordings and Speech Processing

Your voice recordings are central to the Service. We process them to produce a text transcription, to assess your pronunciation, and to check how well your answer matches the exercise. This processing is carried out using third-party speech- and language-processing services acting as our processors under data processing agreements (see "Who We Share Your Data With" below). We do not use your voice recordings for any purpose unrelated to providing and improving the Service.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the following legal bases:

• Performance of our contract with you, to provide the Service
• Your consent, including parental consent where the user is below the age of digital consent in their country
• Our legitimate interests in securing, operating, and improving the Service
• Compliance with our legal obligations

Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

• With teachers and schools: where you are enrolled in a classroom, your results, scores, and progress are visible to the teachers and administrators responsible for that classroom
• With service providers acting on our behalf under data processing agreements, including Microsoft (Azure) for cloud hosting and speech-to-text transcription and pronunciation assessment, OpenAI for transcription and content-relevance assessment, and Hetzner for secure recording storage within the EU
• With Apple, Google, and Microsoft when you choose to sign in through them, and with Apple or Google when you purchase a subscription, for authentication and payment processing
• Where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the Service

International Data Transfers

We aim to keep your data processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). Some of our processors, such as OpenAI, may process data outside the EEA; where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as European Commission standard contractual clauses.

Leaderboards and Public Visibility

The Service may display leaderboards. By default you appear anonymously and your name is not shown. If you opt in through your profile, your first name and last initial may be visible to other users. You can return to anonymous at any time.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, including any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Children's Privacy

The Service may be used by children, including through schools. Users below the age of digital consent in their country require parental consent, or an appropriate legal basis provided through their school, before their personal data is collected. Parents and guardians may contact us to access, correct, or delete their child's data. If you believe a child's data has been collected without the necessary consent, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data

• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal

On our website we use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to function, such as keeping you signed in and maintaining your session.
