Lexorate is an educational language-learning service. It is suitable for a general audience, including children who use it under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or school. This page describes the app's content and age suitability.
App Store age rating
Lexorate is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store. It contains no objectionable material and is appropriate for all ages, with the parental-consent safeguards described below for younger users.
What the app contains
- Language-learning exercises where you read, answer, or describe out loud
- Voice recording for pronunciation practice, with automated feedback and scores
- Progress tracking, daily challenges, and achievements
- Optional leaderboards that, only if you opt in, show your first name and last initial
- Optional paid subscriptions (in-app purchases)
What the app does not contain
- No violence, profanity, sexual, or other mature content
- No gambling or simulated gambling
- No third-party advertising
- No unrestricted web browsing and no open user-to-user messaging or chat
Children and parental consent
Where a user is below the age of digital consent in their country, a parent or guardian's verifiable consent — or an appropriate legal basis provided through their school — is required before we collect their personal data. In-app purchases and parental controls
Lexorate offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions as in-app purchases. Parents and guardians can manage or restrict purchases using their device's built-in parental controls (such as Screen Time and Ask to Buy on Apple devices).
User-generated content
The only content you create is the voice recordings you submit for assessment. These are not shown publicly; they are shared only with your teachers (where you are in a classroom) and with the service providers that transcribe and assess them, as described in our Privacy Policy.
